About Us

Thillaiyambur Muthiyore Kappagam was established on 22nd July 1998 by Rtn. Er. M. Natarajan, a retired Executive Engineer from the Agricultural Department. After completing his government service, he returned to his native village, Thillaiyambur. There, he was deeply moved to see some of his old school and village friends struggling for even a single meal a day — and saddened to hear that a few had lost their lives due to hunger and poverty.

Determined that such suffering should never happen again, he decided to dedicate his life to serving the elderly and needy. With this noble vision, he founded Thillaiyambur Muthiyore Kappagam in 1998, obtaining official registration (Reg. No. 16/2000) and recognition from the Department of Social Welfare (Reg. No. 770/2005).

Today, Thillaiyambur Muthiyore Kappagam stands as a home of compassion for more than 160 destitute and helpless elders from across Tamil Nadu. We provide them with:

  • Nutritious and hygienic food
  • Free medical facilities and health check-ups
  • Comfortable accommodation in concrete buildings with modern amenities
  • Separate living areas for men and women with individual cots, cupboards, and western toilets
  • A clean dining hall, modern kitchen, and barber shop

Beyond physical comfort, we focus on the emotional and spiritual well-being of our residents. We organize yoga sessions, philosophical discourses, and provide access to television, newspapers, and weekly magazines for entertainment and engagement.

Nestled on the serene banks of a branch of the River Cauvery, surrounded by lush greenery and fresh air, Thillaiyambur Muthiyore Kappagam continues to serve as a sanctuary of care and dignity for the elderly — spreading love, respect, and hope for over 27 years.View More

"This new elderly home was visited with a sense of fulfillment. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Natarajan, who manages it, and to his wife, who supports him in this noble endeavor according to his vision. Children are the rightful caretakers of their parents. In today's times, taking responsibility for such a care home, treating the residents as one's own parents, is indeed a commendable act. I pray to God to make all necessary arrangements to encourage and support this noble cause."

At a time when the elderly are often considered a burden, Brother Mr. Natarajan, the administrator of the Thillaiyampur Old Age Home, continues to prove that they are not a burden, but a source of joy.I visited the aforementioned home on 21.07-08. Memories of a day I spent there ten years ago with my dear friends Mr. Veerapathiran, Mr. Sivagnanam, and Mr. Rajappa came back vividly! What began ten years ago in a small cottage has now grown impressively. I was amazed to see that the home now accommodates over 50 men and women from various religious backgrounds and is functioning remarkably well. After personally inquiring with the residents, I found that everyone expressed happiness, good health, and a sense of well-being!.I extend my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Natarajan, who carries out this noble service with deep humanity, as well as to everyone working alongside him — those who contribute financially, materially, or through physical effort. I bid farewell by wishing everyone: Live long and prosper!
